What sets the price?
The fault, the make and model, and the part tier. An air spring for a Range Rover L405 isn't an air spring for a Tahoe, and genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts are priced differently. Any garage that gives you a fixed number before seeing the car is giving you a number that will change later.
Three part tiers, and you choose

- OEM — the same factory that supplies the dealer (Wabco, Continental, Dunlop) at a lower price
- Trusted specialist aftermarket such as Arnott or Bilstein
