Air Springs & Suspension Bags

The air spring is the highest-wear part in any air suspension system, and Kuwait's climate accelerates it: heat dries the rubber and dust collects at the crimp ring and corrodes it. Normal service life is 6–10 years; in Kuwait we regularly see bags cracking at 4.

How to tell a bag is cracked

Cracks usually start in the lower fold of the bag — an area you can't see without lifting the car. Early signs:

  • Car sits lower on one corner after standing overnight
  • Compressor running more than usual, especially in the morning
  • Faint hiss from the wheel arch when you push down on the car
  • Suspension warning that appears in cool weather then clears
  • Visible ride-height difference side to side

The parts we fit

Three options, priced, and you choose:

  • Genuine dealer — highest price, factory warranty
  • OEM (Continental, Dunlop, Vibracoustic, Wabco) — the same factory that supplies the dealer, at a lower price
  • Arnott — a well-regarded American aftermarket specialist in air suspension

Doing it properly is more than swapping the bag

Fitting a new bag without cleaning the seat and checking the crimp ring means a fresh leak within months. Every replacement here includes seat cleaning, air line inspection, system purge and electronic recalibration.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do air springs last in Kuwait's climate?

Normally 6–10 years, but heat and dust cut that to 4–7. Cars parked in full sun all day fail fastest.

Do I have to replace both sides together?

Not mandatory, but we recommend it when the other bag is the same age — it usually cracks within a year, and doing both together saves a second labour charge.

Is there a temporary fix for a cracked bag?

No. Patches and sealants fail quickly under pressure and can cause the bag to blow out while driving. Replacement is the only safe answer.
