GMC Yukon & Denali Suspension
Yukon and Denali use Autoride for rear levelling with Magnetic Ride Control electronic dampers on higher trims. MagneRide dampers are extremely expensive from the dealer and most owners are shocked by the quote. We carry high-quality alternatives at a far lower price and explain the trade-off honestly before you decide.
The system used
Autoride and Magnetic Ride Control — on models: Yukon / Yukon XL, Denali, Sierra.
Recurring faults on this brand
- Magnetic Ride damper leaks
Oil leaking from the electronic damper triggers the suspension light.
- Weak Autoride compressor
The rear sits low and won't rise under load.
- Rear air springs
Leaks drop the rear, especially when loaded.
- Rear ride-height sensor
A broken or detached arm stops the system levelling.
- "Service Suspension System" light
Appears with any system fault and needs a scan to identify the cause.
- Conversion to conventional dampers
An option some owners request to cut cost — we do it properly and deal with the warning light.

A note from the workshop
Some owners prefer converting Autoride to conventional mechanical dampers to cut long-term cost. That's a legitimate choice and we do it correctly — but you should know you lose automatic levelling under load.
