Lexus Hydraulic Suspension
Lexus uses AHC (Active Height Control) — a hydraulic system running specialised fluid, not air — on the LX570 and some LS models. Many garages treat it as a pneumatic system and misdiagnose it. The difference matters: AHC has its own fluid, pressure accumulators and pump, each with its own failure pattern.
The system used
AHC hydraulic system and air suspension — on models: LX570 / LX600, LS460 / LS600h, GX460, RX (مجهز).
Recurring faults on this brand
- AHC fluid leaks
From lines, struts or the pump. The car sits low and the height buttons stop responding.
- Weak pressure accumulators
The signature LX570 fault — a very harsh ride plus a warning message.
- AHC pump
Weakening or leaking, usually the result of degraded fluid that was never changed.
- Degraded AHC fluid
Needs periodic replacement. Neglecting it is the root cause of most system failures.
- Ride-height sensors
False readings prevent the system from operating.
- LS460 air suspension
Air springs leak like any other brand, with a separate compressor.

A note from the workshop
On the LX570 we recommend an AHC fluid change roughly every 60,000 km. It is a cheap step that prevents hundreds of dinars of pump and accumulator failure.
