Best Air Suspension Part Brands: Arnott, Wabco, Continental and Bilstein

Most owners ask "genuine or aftermarket?" — but the right question is finer than that. There are three tiers, not two, and the difference matters because the middle tier is usually the smartest buy.

Genuine from the dealer

The same part in a manufacturer box at manufacturer prices. You get factory warranty and guaranteed fit. The only downside is price.

OEM — the same factory, without the dealer box

Continental, Wabco, Dunlop and Vibracoustic are the companies that make the genuine parts in the first place. Same component, their own box, noticeably lower price. For most cars this is the smart choice.

Specialist aftermarket — Arnott

An American company working exclusively on air suspension. Well-regarded quality, and some products are redesigned to address weak points in the original design. A strong option for out-of-warranty cars.

Bilstein for conventional dampers

A reference name in damping. For cars converted from air to conventional suspension, Bilstein is an excellent choice.

Unbranded parts

No. A cheap part with no recognised brand means a leak within months and a second labour charge. We don't fit them and we can't warranty them.

We show you all three tiers with prices and explain the difference; the decision is yours. We won't push a tier on you — but we won't fit a part we can't stand behind.
